The Great Jazz Trio and Sadao Watanabe - I’m Old Fashioned
Hank Jones is famous for bringing together amazing artists (he’s reincarnated the Great Jazz Trio countless times with different players) and his light, captivating touch on the piano.
Ahhh and Watanabe does a great job with this Coltrane Fred Astaire (oops!) track.
I don’t know a lot about the Japanese jazz scene so does anyone know what DVD is this off of?? Or if there’s an album out? Anything??? I want it so bad…
Dave Brubeck - Strange Meadow Lark, Time Out 1959
I have a little bit of a soft spot for Dave Brubeck: he was the first jazz artist my mom introduced me to when I was younger. What can I say? How could you not fall in love?
Also, in general, I tend to appreciate jazz piano the most (probably because I play piano), but don’t worry, I’ll diversify my posts soon.
