The Great Jazz Trio and Sadao Watanabe - I’m Old Fashioned

Hank Jones is famous for bringing together amazing artists (he’s reincarnated the Great Jazz Trio countless times with different players) and his light, captivating touch on the piano.

Ahhh and Watanabe does a great job with this ~~Coltrane~~ Fred Astaire (oops!) track.

I don’t know a lot about the Japanese jazz scene so does anyone know what DVD is this off of?? Or if there’s an album out? Anything??? I want it so bad…

This guy pretty much reformed the way jazz players read/write chord voicings, which was key in building more interesting chords.

If you’re interested in what’s behind it all, this site has a pretty good guide. It’s a little theory heavy, so if you haven’t had a basic chord building primer (flash), you might be a little lost.
